BANDA ACEH, BBG NEWS–Following the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) on March 13, 2023, Universitas Bina Bangsa Getsempena (UBBG) is on the move to carry out several programs that had been initiated and planned since December 2022. The first activity is an International Community Services Program (PKM). Aside from the UKM, the university has also invited its another collaborator, Geodrive Solution Pvt. Ltd India, a software company from India to ensure the full experience of the program.
This collaborations aim to build an international network for the institutional development towards a Global University. Previously, UBBG colloborated with Geodrive to create an International Team Teaching Program. During the program, the company sent 4 experts in IT from India to teach together with the lecturers of the Computer Science Study Program in the Software Network Course.
Sharing the same perception and concern for the community, both UKM and Geodrive Solution Pvt. Ltd welcomed this International PKM program. Hence, UBBG together with all its professional practitioners will host the event in 2023. All activities related to this event will be held in SMPN 8 Banda Aceh and will be attended by the principal and the teachers of SMPN 2 Banda Aceh.
The Model Teacher for Lesson Study-based learning is Risnawati, S.Pd.I, M.Pd. who has previously received Lesson Study training from UBBG and PMRI USK in this series of International PKM activities which will be held on January 17, 2023 at SMPN 2 Banda Aceh after coordinating directly with the Head of the Banda Aceh Education Office, Sulaiman Bakri, S.Pd, M.Pd.
The principal of SMPN 8 Banda Aceh, Burhanuddin, S.Pd, expressed his gratitude to UBBG for carrying out the International PKM activities as an effort to improve the quality and qualifications of teachers in his school. The principal of SMPN 2 Banda Aceh made the same statement regarding his participation in the program that directly affected the improvement of teacher quality and professionalism.
Mulia Putra, S.Pd., M.Pd., M.Sc., Ph.D in Ed, the best Alumni of Hiroshima University Japan, was asked to lead this program together with Dr. Rita Novita, M.Pd., the best graduate of the Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, both of whom are LPDP awardees.
Together with the representatives from UKM and Geodrive Solution, the activity will begin with STEAM Material and Lesson Study understading delivered by Prof. Middle. Dr. Roslinda Rosli and Prof. Middle. Dr. Zanaton H Iksan, followed by discussion on Lesson Study and STEAM- based learning. Without wasting time, the team will conduct observation on the implementation of Lesson Study in mathematics class.
In this activity, Mukhroji, MT, together with the lecturers and students of the Computer Science Study Program, will lead the IT Team to teach and intruct teachers on how to create Learning Videos. This continuous program will be held in May 2023 so that it is in line with the government’s efforts in implementing the Independent Curriculum. In this regard, UBBG practiced and took part in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM – Independent Learning Independent Campus) program proposed by the government, where students have been equipped with learning tools design based on the Independent Curriculum.
Dr. Lili Kasmini, S.Si, M.Si., the Rector of UBBG, in a separate location expressed her gratitude and pride on her staff’s direct involvement with the international experts in helping the community. She hopes that this good practice can continue and can be carried out continuously in other schools and throughout Aceh by continuing to work with experts and practitioners from UKM Malaysia and Geodrive Solution India.
